Dr. Hanna is proud to offer a fellowship program in Interventional
Pain Management at the Florida Spine Institute in sunny Clearwater, Florida.
Fellows will receive hands-on training on a wide variety of interventional techniques. Procedures include cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral interventional techniques, including epidural injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, sacroiliac joint injections, sympathetic injections/neurolysis, and spinal cord stimulation. Fellows will also be trained on a multitude of peripheral nerve blocks and ablative techniques, peripheral joint injections, interventional techniques for abdominal, pelvic, thoracic, facial and headache pain, stem cell, and other regenerative medicine techniques. The procedure clinic at the Florida Spine Institute regularly operates at near-capacity, with daily procedure schedules that far exceed those at most fellowship programs. With this multitude of procedures, each fellow will graduate with an extremely high procedural skill level and efficiency to enable him/her to successfully transition into a busy practice post-fellowship.
Education will also include topics such as typical and atypical pain syndromes, medication management, including the risks and benefits of opioid and adjuvant medications, coexistent psychological and psychiatric conditions, and complementary treatment techniques including physical therapy, chiropractic therapy, behavioral therapy, group therapy, and acupuncture.
Dr. Hanna is highly engaged in clinical research and staffs doctoral level scientific personnel. As such, fellows will have the opportunity to participate in research and scientific writing.
